PRESSURE CASTING MACHINES
for
PLATINUM & PALLADIUM (Gold & Silver)
Designed around YOSHIDA's unique patented Rotary, High pressure casting system giving the very best casting quality results with minimal cost.
YOSHIDA have developed their unique patented platinum ROTARY, PRESSURE CASTING machine in 1984 and with it their casting process which starts with waxes, continues through spruing, investing, burnout stages before casting using their Pressure Casting machines. Their casting system is recognized on a world-wide basis as being the most advanced casting system for platinum and palladium alloys.
CASTING MACHINE RANGE
GAPMAN - YGP 2SN Casting Machine - 70 grams pt , 100 grams 18 kt gold capacity
70 grams total capacity
typical yield 47 grams product
|
|
Maximum flask diameter of 76 mm x 70 mm tall
Tabletop machine, ideal for small volumes producing very high quality casting of CAD designed and prototype produced waxes in any precious metal, silver, gold, platinum, palladium and non-precious metals. High product yield of 66.7% (of the total weight of metal used), are typically achieved, thereby reducing money tied up in expensive precious metals to a minimum. By a simple change of crucible and machine settings, the machine can cast platinum & palladium (silica crucible) or gold and silver (graphite crucible). The machine's casting cycle is perfectly calibrated to ensure good quality castings are achieved every time by any operator for all metals. This is a very easy machine to use for anyone new to casting.
YGP 5AE Casting Machine - 200 grams pt, 250 grams 18 kt gold capacity
The ideal production plant machine, with medium output giving a product yield of 82.5%. This is a higher product yield than the Gapman machine due to the machine's larger crucible volume. This is an extremely efficient machine, minimizing money tied up in expensive precious metals, while maximizing product quality.
Maximum flask diameter of 90 mm x 90 mm tall
YGP 7A Casting Machine - 350 grams pt, 500 grams 18 kt gold capacity

The ideal production plant machine, with high outputs and product yield of 82.5%. A machine designed for the largest factory outputs with all the advantages outlined above.
Maximum flask diameter of 90 mm x 120 mm tall
TECHNOLOGY
Spruing - is designed to ensure the minimal amount of waste metal is produced while casting, for example for a 200 gram platinum casting, using the YGP-5AE (mid range machine) a customer can typically expect 165 grams of product. This represents a product to waste yield of 82.5%, which is much higher than any other casting machines on the market today. Large savings in working capital are therefore possible as less platinum alloy is needed to service production runs.
This is achieved by the unique rotary casting system designed in YOSHIDA's casting machines, which eliminates most of the traditional "button" of waste metal.
Waxes are added to special sprue design, which is positioned on absorption paper with a solid flask placed over the assembly when completed

After casting only the product and a small amount of base are cast in platinum metal

This amount of sprue (shown in green wax) has been saved from metal casting
Investing - can be carried out in a specially designed "Vacuvest #3", which is designed to mix the two part chemical binder/water with powder (link to VacuVest web page).

Burnout - a special burnout cycle has been created by YOSHIDA to ensure the best conditions for casting.

Casting technology - is based around the unique YOSHIDA rotary high pressure casting system, which ensures gases from within the platinum and palladium alloys are expelled during melting and pouring of the metal, thereby minimizing porosity.

The remaining investment is removed using YOSHIDA's special (non flourine acid) investment remover, this removes the glazed investment powder from the surface of platinum castings for example.
