'VAC-U-VEST®' Vacuum mixers for mixing and pouring
of investment powder, manufactured by ROBOTECH DEVELOPMENTS, England.
INTRODUCTION
Jewellery casting has a history stretching back thousands of years,
but only recently, perhaps during the last 100 years, has there
been machinery available, designed specifically to help casters
increase productivity with high quality results.
The VAC-U-VEST® machine is a good example of a machine designed solely to solve
the problems related to pouring of investment powder, particularly
in regards to trapped air bubbles, which lead to high production
losses.
The VAC-U-VEST® design is a complete solution to these problems, by incorporating
the mixing and vacuuming operations into one machine thus ensuring
there is no air present when investing the flasks.
In short, the machine you can see above is COMPACT, ROBUST, and EASY to use, and gives consistently excellent results.
Why use a VAC-U-VEST® vacuum mixer?
We recommend for the following reasons:
Small & medium casting shops - where mixing is carried out "not under vacuum"
- where pouring is carried out "not under vacuum"
- where there is a separate vacuum chamber, after pouring
The use of the VAC-U-VEST® vacuum mixer, in all the above cases, will -
1) eliminate air bubbles, producing better & consistently high
quality casting, with much lower rejects.
2) allow simplied and controlled mixing
3) allow higher outputs.
4) reduce harmful dust release from enclosed mixing chamber.
Medium & large casting shops - where larger volumes require more mixing capacity
- where new vacuum casting machinery is being used
The use of the VAC-U-VEST® vacuum mixer, in addition to eliminating air bubbles, producing
better quality castings, and lower rejects, would also improve
productivity, and allow the maximum potential of the latest vacuum
casting machinery to be realised.
The VAC-U-VEST® vacuum mixer, is therefore the first in-line piece of machinery
for casting operations, where the latest vacuum casting technology
and machinery is used.
For example where casters use, YASUI, GALLONI, INTOTHERM, NEUTEC, MARIO DI MAIO, SCHULTHEISS and many other types of vacuum casting machines, VAC-U-VEST® is essential!
DISTRIBUTORS:
We supply all our VAC-U-VEST® to the Jewellery industry through a world-wide network of distributors.
In the United Kingdom, we act as our own distributor, and supply
Jewellery manufacturers direct from our factory in Stoke-on-Trent.
All our world-wide distributors offer technical advice, and help
with the importation and installation & commissioning of our machines.
They are also able to service our machines once installed and
provide after sales help.
We will be pleased to direct your enquiries to your nearest distributor.
WARRANTIES:
All our machines carry a one- year warranty on all parts, (except
pouring taps). Providing the machines are looked after, and cleaned
in the correct way, very few replacement parts will be required
over life- time of the machine. As yet we have had no instance
of a machine reaching the end of their life, after more than 8
years of service in some cases!
SPARES:
If the need arises for replacement parts, we carry an extensive
stock of spares, which can be despatched at short notice.
OPERATION:
As the operational information includes a good deal of illustration,
we have set up a separate page which can be found by following this link. It should load in around 45 to 60 seconds. View UTube Video of operation
PLATINUM INVESTMENT MIXING- some of these powders are mixed with a chemical binder, which causes problems with mixing under vacuum. Water based investment powders mix into fluid slurry within 1-2 minutes, but the chemical binder based investments cause the mix to "ball" up into a solid mass, which only becomes fluid again after about 2 minutes. To achieve this fluidity, the mixer needs to be capable of breaking down the solid "ball" effect of the chemical binder.
The new tabletop "VACUVEST #3" mixer has been designed to do just this.
