OPERATION

The J-2r IV employs the proven principles of closed-system casting, providing an oxygen-free atmosphere for the metal during melting and pouring to help eliminate oxidation. The large-volume graphic crucible also removes oxygen that may previously have been dissolved in the metal. The means fewer defects and lower reject rates.

Keeping the metal oxide-free is one of the equation for successful casting - another is accurate control of the temperature. The J-2r IV measures the metal temperature in the centre of the metal pool, giving you the accurate control of casting temperatures. The crucible in the J-2r IV is a bottom-pour design so there is very little drop in metal temperature from crucible to flask. This allows you to cast at the optimum temperature for any design without overheating the metal.

After initial warm-up, the casting cycle time of the J-2r IV is a fast 6 to 8 minutes, depending on the size of the load. The large-volume crucible holds 902 grams (580 dwt.) og 14K gold, or 722 grams (464 dwt.) of sterling silver. Flask sizes for the machine can range from 2.5" to 4" in diameter and up to 9" high. High-volume casting saves you money with less metal in process and reduced material costs.

The J-2r IV is simple to install and operate, and no other resistance-heated machine will perform as well in such a small area - only three square feet of bench space.

Operating the J-2r IV, is simple

- set the temperature controller for the designed casting temperature,
- add the casting grain to the crucible,
- insert the flask, and at set temperature,
- push the casting lever.
- remove flask when pour is completed, remove flask

The J-2r IV. is an exceptional machine combining advanced technology with a practical design to give you the casting capability you need to now. The heavy-duty construction, with the best components available, offers outstanding reliability. As a NEUTEC owner, you can depend on superb technical support and quick deliveries of consumables to almost anywhere in the UK.
